sysutils/bbcp: Anyone interesting in helping upgrade this port?

I had an open request to upgrade sysutils/bbcp since August 2014,
apparently the maintainer is absent or not interested.

   [Bug 192405] Please upgrade sysutils/bbcp, current version does not 
support IPv6

It would be very nice to bring it up-to-date.
