finch crash on startup?

net-im/finch is crashing on startup.

finch -nd or -d doesn't really help / show anything exciting.

How can I build finch and libpurple with DEBUG enabled when using
poudriere to build packages?

and the last bit from the debug option:

Also an error about jabber not working:

(15:13:54) plugins: /usr/local/lib/purple-2/libjabber.so is not usable because the 'purple_init_plugin' symbol could not be found.  Does the plugin call the PURPLE_INIT_PLUGIN() macro?

ideas? Talk to the pidgin forums?
