graphics/blender: crahs due to Assertion failed:

On CURRENT ( FreeBSD 11.0-CURRENT #2 r292123: Fri Dec 11 23:06:04 CET 2015  amd64),
blender crashes spontanously or reproducible via trying to access 

File -> User Preferences -> System

with the error shown below.

The error is similar to the error popping up while trying to work on blender, which isn't
possible for long (~1 min or less, depending on the action performed).

What is wrong here?
