I am unsure if it is related or not, but I have what seems to be
a similar problem compiling virtualbox-ose-additions on 10-STABLE
or 10.1RC3. 

I don't have a useful error, as in my case the result is that 
during the compilation, the VM itself crashes. This is the case
with both 10-STABLE as of Friday, 24 October, and also a fresh
install of 10.1RC3.
