compiling non-ports source: how to handle QT3?

Hi.
> Install devel/qmake?
I though it went devel/qt4-qt3support -> devel/qmake4 = qt4 & qt3 functionality. Anyway, after installing devel/qmake, I now get:

checking for QT qmake... Using QT3 with qmake=/usr/local/bin/qmake
checking for QT lrelease... configure: error: unable to find lrelease localization binary for QT3
