So, are these options in /etc/make.conf harmful:

#CMAKE_ARGS+=    -DCMAKE_COLOR_MAKEFILE=off
#CFLAGS+= -fno-color-diagnostics
#CXXFLAGS+= -fno-color-diagnostics
