Spambayes 1.1b1 - training errors

I just upgraded mail/py-spambayes to version 1.1b1.
When I train (from the web interface) I sometimes gets errors like this:

As described in that posting, doing
# service pyspamd restart
makes the training work again.
Is this problem known, or should I file a PR?
