Prining is NOT simple no matter what you might think. And what CUPS (Common
UniX Print System) has to do with windows, I can't imagine. (It does share
quite a bit with MacOS and Apple does own a lot of the code.)
Unless you want to print to a very dumb printer, CUPS is almost certainly
the simplest choice...vastly simpler than plain old lpd(8) and old,
unmanageable printcaps(5) files. But it's your life and your system.
