mutt 1.5 much slower than mutt 1.4

yes, I just rebuilt with this set.

This is on ia64 r237134

For example, when I type "mutt", then "c" and
choose a folder, I get:

Sorting mailbox...

which goes for over 50 sec. At the same time
I see in top:

  PID    UID    THR PRI NICE   SIZE    RES STATE   C   TIME   WCPU COMMAND

The same on quitting "q" (about 40 sec):
