Slave ports

Hello,

I am in the process of making a new port of some application, but I
have a problem with dependencies. The building process of this port
depends in some other port. The problem is they must be built with the
same options (GTK2 or QT in this case).

I have been told the answer for this may be to create a slave port,
but I can't find much information about them (there is no explanation
of what they are in the porter's handbook, and searching through the
web I have not been able to find anything useful either).

Can somebody point me to the right manual pages or some other port
which can serve as an example?
