ldconfig -r does not show devel/sfml libraries

If you "cat /var/run/ld-elf.so.hints", does /usr/local/lib appear in the list of paths?  (Yeah, this is a mildly binary file, but...)

Does running "ldconfig -R" do anything helpful?
