print/teTeX-base failed to install on ia64

I've found several similar errors on the net, e.g.:
http://www.coreboot.org/AVATT#The_KVM_image_is_outdated

they blame binutils. There was a recent fix to binutils on ia64,
perhaps I better send this to @current?
