Hello Ports Users & Porters,

I have just created a gdb7 port from the existing devel/gdb6. If you
would like to give this a few rounds of testing and ultimately decide if
it either a). needs adjustment or b). should be committed. then I would
greatly appreciate it.

To test (any directory):
sh /path/to/gdb7.shar

Will create ./gdb7 in your current working directory. So to extract it
to /usr/ports/devel you should first cd(1) to that directory before you
issue that command.


NOTE TO THE MAINTAINER OF GDB6:
I plan to file a PR (not filed yet) for a repo-copy of gdb6 -> gdb7 and
request that gdb66 be sent to Attic as the gdb6 port is already at 6.6.
and the 6.6 series is already pretty dated.

After the repo-copy I will submit a patch to update gdb6 it to 6.8.

In the event that the maintainer is not available Ill request that it be
returned to ports@ as the maintainer with me in the CC list and I will
do what I can to submit patches, given if free time is available to do so.
