You and I are thinking on the same lines here. Last night I decided to try
installing redland & soprano from packages and got an interesting result.
Whether it help someone diagnose the problem I do not know.

After pkg_add -r redland soprano I tried to build kdelibs4 and hot the
following error:
________________________________________________________________
"
CMake error at CMakeliststxt:236 (include):
include could not load file:

SopranoAddOntology

CMake error at nepomuk/CFMakeLists.txt:3 (include):
include could not load file:

SopranoAddOntology

CMake error at nepomuk/CFMakeLists.txt:3 (soprano_add_ontology):
 Unknown CMake Command "soprano_add_ontology.

Configuring incomplete, errors occurred!
*** Error Code 1
