This patch is also need for my HP PS8250. Also running amd64:

Without the patch, hp-setup can't / won't communicate with the printer.
With the patch, hp-setup works fine.
Unfortunately, my printer is out of ink and refuses to print until I
have replaced a cartridge. I'll be back.
