portmaster -l will give you a list of ports in the following categories:

===>>> Root ports (No dependencies, not depended on)
===>>> Trunk ports (No dependencies, are depended on)
===>>> Branch ports (Have dependencies, are depended on)
===>>> Leaf ports (Have dependencies, not depended on)

There is a procedure in the man page that describes how to use that
information to do a clean reinstall of your ports.
