Specifying and exporting the environment variable GZIP, e.g. export GZIP=-9, will result in editors/gedit gzipping /usr/bin/gzip to /usr/bin/gzip.gz, causing portupgrade to fail. -- Cheers, Cy Schubert <Cy.Schubert at komquats.com>
