Compiler segfault under fbsd7?

I've seen this on a system without *enough* memory -- when trying to do a
6.x to 7.0 upgrade compilation died in that exact place.  Turned out that 
server hadn't been configured  with a swap partition when it was originally 
built, and adding swap cured the problem.
