How does portupgrade -ar work?

'portupgrade -a' is sufficient and in fact is not different from '-ar'
or '-arR'. If you take a look at the source of portupgrade (just read
the script file) you will see that as soon as '-a' is specified, the
options '-r' and '-R' are ignored/switched off.
