I just checked the Snort download page at http://www.snort.org/dl and
the Last Modified date for snort-2.4.4.tar.gz is now "Mon Apr 17
17:33:45 2006 GMT". I didn't see anything go out on the Snort mailing
lists regarding an updated package.

Will look into it and will update the port if the updated tarball is
genuine.
