fpc dependencies ?!

Hello,

I was wondering why would fpc (Free Pascal Compiler) would need mysql,
firebird, and such others as dependencies ?
It's _really_ heavy when you are a developer needing only fpc, and no
database (or rather, when the database needed is already installed...)
Why isn't there a possibility to install fpc without all those
unncessary dependencies ? (a fpc-simple port ?)
