Problem with libs in gnome during the upgrade 2.10->2.12

I think this explains it. The argument for a '-restart' is no longer the
gnome_upgrade_log file. It is the gnome_upgrade_lst file. Using the log
file will produce exactly the sort of errors you are reporting.

If you have more than one gnome_upgrade_lst file, you should probably
use the newest one.
