xgalaga sound problems

I have problems with xgalaga and my internal sound-card.

FreeBSD 5.3-STABLE
Epox 8KHA+ Mainboard with VIA8233 sound onBoard

with prior versions of FreeBSD (<5.3) I haven't any sound...
now I have sound, but it is a little bit delayed, seems about a half second or so...
No sound problems are detected from me with another games or tools...

any hints?
I am not a programmers, but if possible, I will help so far as I can.
