FreeBSD Port: openssl-0.9.7e_2

I don't necessarly want to ... but my app is currently seg faulting on 
SSL_library_init().
I'm using stock version on 5.3 amd64 which is openssl-0.9.7d

Has there been any other similar issues reported on 5.3 and 0.9.7d
