mod_perl + perl 5.8 with thread support

hummmmm something very strange........ my apache2 under debian is
running with Prefork

tracerbullet:~# apache2 -l
Compiled in modules:
...
  prefork.c
....


and i think that apache2 with some MPM and PHP have troubles........ is it true?
