Oops, obvious blooper. I've let myself be confused from the bogus ${X11BASE} 
usage that was already in there... here's another patch.

Yeah, probably, but I'm not in a hurry with committing anyway (not sure if the 
xfree86-3 case is really right, but the present state seems wrong to me, so I 
changed it, too).
