port make problem

Hi
On a newly installed system I tried to make cvsup-without-gui from
ports and got the following error:

checking for gcc... cc
checking for C compiler default output file name... sed: conftest.c:
No such file or directory
configure: error: C compiler cannot create executables
See `config.log' for more details.

I've attached the config.log and here is a list of installed packages

thorbardin# ls /var/db/pkg
libtool-1.5.10_1        linux_base-8-8.0_6      perl-5.6.2_2

Not much so far!

I'm going to keep trying to get this to work but if you want any more
info just shout.
