It might have, but I just did cvsup on my ports tree and it still shows
0.3.0 -- I guess ports freeze is in effect.

Honestly, I have no idea whether and when gcc will get fixed, but you
are absolutely right -- when and if it does this patch will be
unnecessary. To keep long story short -- I needed it and I needed it
now, so I made it -- if it is of any use for anyone -- here it is, if
not, it served its original purpose. Again, to be fair -- I did not make
it -- I lifted it from E-mail mentioned above ;)
