FreeBSD Port: nvidia-driver-1.0.6113_2

Hi,
I have an issue with the latest Nvidia driver that I installed from the 
ports. The driver is version 1.0-6113 and the FreeBSD version that I'm 
running is 5.3 RELEASE. The full description of my problem is here:

Is there a workaround to get Nvidia's 1.0-6113  driver to work with 
FreeBSD's 5.3 ?
