I would suggest in such a case that you go ahead and send-pr with
the text exactly as you posted, e.g. with just a link to the sharfile.

The 'email-and-GNATS' solution is not ideal but at least that way
there is something to track rather than just email to freebsd-ports,
which has such high traffic that things like this just tend to get
lost very quickly.
