dnsmasq is unable to startup

On systems with ip6 kernelsupport dnsmasq-2.7 is not able to start up. 
the message you recieve is:
 
dnsmasq: failed to bind IPv6 socket: Invalid argument

I tried out several systems running FreeBSD 5.2.1-RELEASE-p6 - i386
and know now form others
