Dear port maintainers,

OpenLDAP 2.0 is EOL and not any longer supported by the
OpenLDAP Project. The port is marked DEPRECATED and will
be removed from the ports tree May, 1st.

If you just have

USE_OPENLDAP=yes

you'll get the default OpenLDAP version from bsd.port.mk,
which could be changed by users in make.conf(5).

The following ports have a (maybe optional) dependance on
OpenLDAP 2.0, which may cause problems after removal of the port:

blaz at si.FreeBSD.org
 - net-mgmt/nagios-plugins

chris at shagged.org
 - mail/tpop3d

dinoex at FreeBSD.org
 - dns/bind9-dlz

hadara at bsd.ee
 - security/opensc-esteid

hetzelsw at westbend.net
 - security/cyrus-sasl

jylefort at brutele.be
 - mail/sylpheed-gtk2

mi at aldan.algebra.com
 - devel/tcl-neo

mjoyner at hq.dyns.cx
 - net/yptransitd

nakaji at jp.FreeBSD.org
 - japanese/samba

nectar at FreeBSD.ORG
 - security/heimdal

ports at FreeBSD.org
 - net-mgmt/netsaint-plugins
 - net/samba

tremere at cainites.net
 - dns/powerdns

vivek at khera.org
 - mail/postfix-current

Be aware that a direct dependance on OpenLDAP 2.1 is normally
not the right solution. Especially when using prebuild packages,
users depend on ports to have coherent defaults. OpenLDAP 2.2
is maturing, and will sooner or later be the standard OpenLDAP
port.

Furthermore, the following ports have an optional dependance
on port net/openldap12, which is marked FORBIDDEN and will be
removed April, 18th:

hetzelsw at westbend.net
 - security/cyrus-sasl

knu at FreeBSD.org
 - net/ruby-ldap

ports at FreeBSD.org
 - news/nntpcache
 - www/mod_php3

thomas at cuivre.fr.eu.org
 - net/proxy-suite

vivek at khera.org
 - mail/postfix-current

Please prepare your ports timely, so that the removal of the
OpenLDAP ports does not break them.

Thanks
    Oliver
