Mono not building on 5.2.1 or CURRENT

With the first stable release of the 5.x coming along soon, I am 
wondering if the mono garbage collection problem will be fixed so that 
FreeBSD can be a viable open source .NET platform.  What is the problem 
with the port that it doesn't work with -CURRENT [out of curiosity]?

===>  mono-0.30.1 Does not work on -CURRENT with garbage collection enabled.
