current and stable ports 4.9

Hallo,
I have some questions about the port system.
In the documentation I red, that the ports are only available with the
cvs tag="." This means current. But when I look to the ports page in the
internet, then there are the packages available for 4.9 stable. Is it
possible?
The reason for my question is, I want to upgrade 4.9 release ports to
4.9 stable.
