KDE3 - won't build, I'm at a loss

Ok,

I've been working on this problem on and off for a week now. I just can't
figure out the magic needed to get kde to portupgrade. I've searched the
archieves and waited for someone else to report this but no luck.

configure is failing for some kde dependency. it fails with a ...

.
.
.
checking if Qt needs -ljpeg... no
checking for rpath... yes
checking for KDE... configure: error:
in the prefix, you've chosen, are no KDE headers installed. This will fail.
So, check this please and use another prefix!
===>  Script "configure" failed unexpectedly.
Please report the problem to kde at FreeBSD.org [maintainer] and attach
      the "/usr/ports/games/kdegames3/work/kdegames-3.1.3/config.log"
including
the output of the failure of your make command. Also, it might be a
good idea to provide an overview of all packages installed on your
      system (e.g. an `ls /var/db/pkg`).
*** Error code 1

Stop in /usr/ports/games/kdegames3.
*** Error code 1

Stop in /usr/ports/x11/kde3.

.

I've included the full build script, my pkg list and the config.log
specified in the error (sorry for the size).

I've cvsup'ed ports many times.

I've cvsup'ed stable and rebuilt kernel and world.

I've pkg_delete'd all kde stuff and tried to install without portupgrade
(make install). The same problem happens for a make in kde3/ or if i do a
make install in some dependency, like kdebase3/. configure fails with the
same error (different component, same error).

I've cleaned, recleaned, distcleaned, begged, prayed, cajoled and even
gotten drunk...

but nothin's helped.

Can anyone shed some light?

thanks,

-lee
