Troubles with installation of gtk1.2 dependent ports

No idea.  I'm no sure how you got this to happen.  When I install gtk12,
I get:

164:-lgtk12.2 => /usr/X11R6/lib/libgtk12.so.2

What version of FreeBSD is this?

It's in bsd.gnome.mk.
