mod_php4 does not work

Hello,

I get the following message on starting apache:

martin# apachectl start
Syntax error on line 238 of /usr/local/etc/apache/httpd.conf:
Cannot load /usr/local/libexec/apache/libphp4.so into server: 
/usr/local/lib/libxml2.so.5: Undefined symbol "pthread_equal"
/usr/local/sbin/apachectl start: httpd could not be started


I reinstalled mod_php4 right now, but the problem didn't go away.

What can I do?
