ghostscript 7.06 does not print fonts properly in pdf files

The new ghostscript port (ghostscript-gnu-7.06) prints out garbled fonts
when printing most PDF documents.  The character spacing looks wrong,
characters overlap, etc.  Reverting back to ghostscript-gnu-7.05_5
allows me to print PDF documents with proper font rendering.

I am using cups and gimp-print if that is important.
