strange configure problem

hi!

i tried to update freebsd port of simicq to newest version, when i
encountered following issue.

when i run ./configure in ${WRKSRC} i get a "warning" which does not stop
the configure process:

...
checking if sim should be compiled... yes
checking if sounds should be compiled... yes
configure: creating ./config.status
fast creating ./Makefile
fast creating gkrellm_plugin/Makefile
can't open ./gkrellm_plugin/Makefile.in: No such file or directory
fast creating pict/Makefile
...

when i run make build in ports dir, it dies on configure with this error:

...
checking if sim should be compiled... yes
checking if sounds should be compiled... yes
configure: creating ./config.status
config.status: creating ./Makefile
config.status: creating gkrellm_plugin/Makefile
config.status: error: cannot find input file: gkrellm_plugin/Makefile.in
===>  Script "configure" failed unexpectedly.
...

why does it die when i can run configure manually from ${WRKSRC} without
problems?
