I just did a make fetch and it is grabbing 1.9 and not 1.8. I would 
cvsup, rebuild your indexes and try again.

As you can see, that worked.

# cd /usr/ports/databases/ruby-bdb1
# make fetch
>> bdb1-0.1.9.tar.gz doesn't seem to exist in /usr/ports/distfiles/ruby.
>> Attempting to fetch from ftp://moulon.inra.fr/pub/ruby/.
Receiving bdb1-0.1.9.tar.gz (70428 bytes): 100%
