They would have a very big overlap, and it will not be possible to install them
both at the same time (at least not without major surgery).  All ports would
need to depend on the legacy slave port anyway so it doesn't give us anything. 
Then it is, in my opinion, better to just skip the option and always enable the
legacy protocol headers.  I can re-roll the patch with this change tonight.
