xdm 1.1.11_8 moved config files from lib/X11/xdm to etc/X11/xdm and
share/pixmaps.

This change breaks existing installations relying on xdm to start a desktop
environment.

Desktop-installer users can correct their xdm configuration either by carefully
editing and moving files in the new locations, or recreate it by running the
latest desktop-installer and answering 'y' when asked to reconfigure X11. 
Desktop-installer will apply patches under etc as it did under lib before.
