Bug ID: 217756
Summary: www/mod_geoip2: should be replaced by mod_maxminddb
Product: Ports & Packages
Version: Latest
Hardware: Any
OS: Any
Status: New
Severity: Affects Some People
Priority: ---
Component: Individual Port(s)
Assignee: freebsd-ports-bugs at FreeBSD.org
Reporter: code at daniel.priv.no

Flags: maintainer-feedback?(jau at iki.fi)
mod_geoip2 has been replaced by mod_maxminddb, and should be so in ports as
well.
The libmaxminddb requirement is already in ports.
It seems like mod_geoip2 stopped getting updates in 2015, has been labeled as
“legacy”, and support documentation was removed in early 2016.
The main advantage of mod_maxminddb is IPv6 support and faster lookups.
