The RELEASE file in the Apache Spark directory should look like this:

Spark 1.6.1 built for Hadoop 2.7.2

Howegver, after installing the Apache Spark package using pkg, the file looks
like this:

Spark ORTVERSION built for Hadoop 2.7.2
