On a system with LANG=de_DE.ISO8859-15 on console with a proper set locale,
this is correct:
# locale -k abmon_3
abmon_3="Mär"

But with tmux-2.2 the problem looks like this:
# locale -k abmon_3
abmon_3="M"

Characters like äöüß show not up on monitor, when entered on the keyboard.
