Sorry, the first output is when there's no other KDE app running (which means
silence fails to initialize/start kdeinit if not already running). If I start
some other KDE app, then start silence, the problem message is one of "cannot
find executable":

Could this error have anything to do with missing data folder (like
config/slim)?

$ /usr/local/bin/silence
