I'm working on this port just now, well actually for the last day.

It has been tricky upgrading to 2.1.1 becuase the MAKEFLAGS environment
variable that comes from the ports make system has a strange effect on the
compiling. It took me ages and some hair-pulling to figure out why it would
build manually but not via the port.

I have successfully upgraded the port now, and am about to start making Franzs'
proposed changes. Shouldn't take too long now until I have a patch to submit.
