Hi!

A big bunch of GDAL functionality is in python scripts, not only in binaries.
That's why, I think, python should be restored and also enabled by default.

Since GDAL is a kind of scientific software, I'd expect anyone running it
already having python on their box, so make dependency footprint shouldn't be a
big deal.
