This patch makes no sense.

The "before" is the MAME port (not mess) and the "after" is what the mess port
looks like now.


And no, don't change the ports.  MESS is a slave of MAME, and the makefile is
short.  It's fine.

I think the submitter got really confused, unless I'm missing something major,
this PR is totally invalid.
