Since firefox 3.6, there is no java plugin any more (at least natively, at least that I am aware of). The reason is described in http://www.java.com/en/download/faq/firefox_newplugin.xml , but FreeBSD's jdk port is too old (jdk-1.6.0.3p4_15).

Upgrade firefox to 3.6 or above.

It would be nice if someone could update the java/jdk16 port to the latest version, including support for NPAPI and NPRuntime.
